Lauren and Chris were SO MUCH FUN to hang out with! I absolutely LOVED our engagement session together! They are both so easy going, kind, and absolutely precious together! You could see and feel their love for each other throughout the session. Their love and adoration is clear in every photo of their Southside Baptist Church Engagement.
I love this beautiful area in downtown Birmingham. I love the classic and timeless look of the architecture around the church. Their adorable dog, Payton, also joined them for a few pictures as well before we headed over to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for the remainder of their engagement session.
The couple did a quick outfit change before their garden pictures and they looked fantastic. The gardens were beautiful with fields of purple flowers and yellow flowering bushes. You would never know by the pictures that it was freezing on the day of our session together! Lauren and Chris were such troopers though! They had the biggest smiles on their faces throughout our time together, and you can tell how much they enjoy being together.
The couple shared with me that they met at work, as they are both nurses in the CVICU at Brookwood Hospital. After dating for a while, Chris proposed while they were vacationing in Turks and Caicos with Lauren’s family.
Lauren fondly recalled the memory telling me that, “for weeks leading up to the trip, my mom had been talking about everyone getting dressed up one night while there and taking family photos. This is not out of the ordinary for her so I thought nothing of it . . . little did I know my fiancé had planned the whole thing and found a photographer to capture the big moment. He proposed right at sunset and it was perfect!”
I absolutely love hearing couples’ stories. I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture this moment in Lauren and Chris’s relationship and am looking forward to their spring wedding at Park Crest Event Center. It is going to be so fun and gorgeous! Congratulations to you both.
