I love capturing engagement sessions and celebrating a couple on this new journey in life! Jessie and Adam were such a sweet couple! We had the greatest time together during their Downtown Birmingham Alabama Summer Engagement Session. Jessie and Adam are the kind of people you can instantly strike up a conversation with, then talk as if you’ve been friends for years! They are both so kind! A perfect example of their kindness – they surprised me with a sweet gift for baby Beckett at our session! It was incredibly thoughtful and sweet!
To start their session, we headed to the gorgeous Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Mountain Brook. We strolled through the beautifully manicured gardens and captured several beautiful pictures! Their sweet lab dog, Mali, joined in on a few photos too! He was so sweet and the best listener! After taking in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, we headed to Southside Baptist Church in downtown Birmingham. Southside Baptist Church is the perfect complement to the Botanical Gardens! While the gardens are a picturesque location, the downtown church features beautiful architecture and historic charm with grand columns decorating the entrance to the church.
Photographing in two different locations adds a nice variety to the images. A location change is also a great time to do an outfit change, which is what Jessie and Adam did. Jessie has incredible style to begin with, but she switched from a white summer dress, to a floor length, elegant straight white dress. She looked stunning! It was the perfect dress for this location! Throughout the entire session Jessie and Adam were smiling and laughing together. You could tell they have such a great relationship and are a perfect match.
The couple met in college while attending UAB, but didn’t start dating until years later. For the proposal, Adam surprised Jessie at Pretty Place, which is a chapel on top of a mountain in South Carolina. Adam knew how much Jessie had wanted to go as she had found it online a few years prior. They arrived at Pretty Place on a Friday morning where Adam asked Jessie to be his wife in front of the cross in the clouds. He even arranged for a surprise party to celebrate their engagement when they got home from their trip. Jessie still recalls how it meant the world to her, as she is really close with her family.
What a beautiful love story! I am so excited for Jessie and Adam and to see the next chapter of their lives begin on their wedding day next April at Camelot Manor! Congratulations, Jessie and Adam!
