There is only one thing better than shooting engagement sessions and maternity sessions and that is combining the two together! The end result from Maria and Chris’s Birmingham Engagement + Maternity session was perfection! We met at Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Mountain Brook, Alabama to capture their engagement. At the time, the couple was expecting a sweet little girl, so we took the opportunity to do maternity style portraits as well!

I am thrilled to report that Maria and Chris welcomed their baby girl to the world last month! How incredibly exciting! Between being engaged, planning a wedding, and now bringing a newborn home, this sweet couple has a lot on their plate. I am so glad we were able to take a few moments to slow down, walk around the gardens and capture the two of them together before their bundle of joy arrived.

With all these exciting life events happening, it is even more important to take time to capture moments like these. I know that when Maria and Chris look back on these images they will be filled with so much joy as memories come flooding back to them, like when Chris proposed to Maria, all the dates they went on during their engagement, or feeling their sweet girl kick for the first time, and how all those events led them to the present. That is what I love most about pictures; their ability to transport you to different times or seasons of life and experience it all over again.
