There aren’t many other moments in life that are more life changing and monumental than becoming a parent. Bringing a newborn home is a unique time in life where time seems to slow down and speed up all at once. The days bleed into one another, sometimes making it hard to remember what day of the week it is. However, those days that seem to never end are filled to the brim with love and joy. While the first year of a baby’s life is filled with several firsts, the first few weeks of your baby’s life are filled with many firsts for parents. Sarah and Tyler are new parents to their sweet, beautiful baby boy, Shep. His at-home newborn + lifestyle session at their lovely Birmingham home was perfect in every way.

Sarah and Tyler are the sweetest couple! They were both so welcoming and genuinely kind. As we talked throughout their session, it became clear that they are the kind of people you can have a conversation with and instantly feel like you’ve known each other forever. I absolutely LOVED getting to know these amazing new parents during Shep’s newborn session. On top of getting to know this wonderful couple, I get to meet and snuggle this precious little guy! Shep is just precious!

Sarah and Tyler are already such natural, loving, wonderful parents. Sarah shared her heart a bit about the choosing of Shep’s name and it was the most beautiful sweet tribute to this precious gift from above.

“Charles Shepard Stone • We prayerfully chose your name as it means SO much to us. Psalm 23 has been a cornerstone in our relationship since before we were even married. I truly believe the Lord placed Tyler in my life to help “make me lie down in green pastures” & bring peace into my life. When we found out we were having a boy – I knew immediately I wanted to name him after this spiritual gift of Tyler’s. We pray our son leads people to Jesus, in love, & to peace. We pray he shepherds others all the days of his life, for the better. He’s our only eternal impact on this Earth & we know he’s going to be the best legacy we could ever dream of! We love you son! Sarah’s words are so beautifully written. Baby Shep is loved beyond measure. It was such a JOY to capture these precious moments for this family of three (five if you include their adorable pups!) I enjoyed watching Sarah and Tyler snuggle up to their son while this little guy slept soundly in his parents arms.
