In the midst of a world paused by a pandemic in 2020, these two were just beginning their sweet love story. Jake and Teresa were set up by mutual friends (who clearly had the right idea!), and met for the first time in person shortly after. After the first-date jitters subsided, they realized they had a lasting connection and with a few more visits, they made their relationship official in the fall. Teresa jokingly describes herself as “nosy”, but Jake was able to pull off the perfect proposal, complete with their families and one of their favorite hometown spots. The pair continued building on that sweet foundation with plenty of dates (they love a night out at North Italia), and began planning a wedding day that would capture their love story.
One thing that made their day extraordinarily special was that the bride chose her grandmother’s birthday as their wedding date. It made a typically sentimental day even more meaningful for their families, and the pair also included a table filled with generations of wedding photos. It really was a testament to the legacy of both sides of their families, and the endurance of love. Their ceremony was held at the picturesque Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, and the sweeping ceilings and beautiful lighting made the best backdrop to their vows. Afterwards, all of us made our way to the Park Crest Event Center, one of my favorite places to shoot. Surrounded by the people they loved most in the world, they cut cake, listened to toasts, and danced the night away! I made sure to capture all the little details (The dreamy florals! That cake!), but I’m not sure even my photos can sum up the insurmountable joy!
After the sweetest day and a lovely send-off, the pair jetted off to the happiest place on earth (Disney!) to begin their forever. What a privilege to be part of their story and their day. I wish you two all the very best as your next chapters unfold!
