Ben and Mattie are so special to me because Ben is my brother-in-law. They’ll be getting married at the end of this month, and I’m beyond happy for them! I’ve had the absolute pleasure of watching their relationship grow over the years. So naturally, when they asked me to photograph their engagement session, I was ecstatic!! We decided on a spring Birmingham, AL engagement session at a private stable Mattie had access to… and I’m seriously obsessed with how everything turned out!!
Mattie knew about this place because it’s where she used to keep her horse, so it was a nice idea to come here for their session. It was quiet and secluded so Ben and Mattie could just relax and enjoy the beautiful evening together! Mattie wanted to include her absolutely precious dog Frances in the session, too. He goes to the barn with her all the time and is so comfortable around horses. I had so much fun watching him try to play with the horses in the pasture. And he was SO well behaved! We even managed to get a photo of Mattie’s incredible vintage engagement ring on his nose. Seriously so sweet!
Ben and Mattie are perfect for each other. I mean, maybe I’m a little bit biased, but I really do believe it. You can just see the love between them in every photo. They made my job so easy – and I’m not just saying that because they’re family! I can’t wait for their wedding on the lake in  a few weeks! Although we’ve had the pleasure of having Mattie in our lives for awhile now, I can’t wait to officially welcome her into the family and for her to “officially” be Aunt Mattie to our sweet Hallie Kate! Congratulations again Ben and Mattie, we’re all so, so happy for you!!!!
