Some couples plan a wedding around trends. Ashley and Trevor planned theirs around emotion. Every part of their day at The Sterling Castle reflected the relationships and moments that mattered most to them, and that shaped the entire atmosphere of the celebration in the best way. From the beginning of the morning, the day felt personal and full of genuine excitement and joy!

The colors alone made everything feel straight out of Bridgerton in the best possible way. Dusty blue was woven throughout the bridesmaids dresses, paper goods, and reception details, while soft coral, pale pink, buttery cream, and hints of sage brought so much life into the florals. Paired with gold accents and the castle setting, everything photographed beautifully together. Even their invitation suite looked like it belonged inside a romantic period film, especially styled alongside the flowers and heirloom inspired ring details.

One thing that stood out so much while getting to know these two before the wedding was how much meaning they attached to the quieter moments throughout the day. Before the ceremony, they exchanged handwritten letters and gifts privately that morning, wanting photographs of each other opening them before seeing one another for the first time. She also planned meaningful gifts for both of her parents, including a father daughter first look that ended up being one of the most emotional parts of the day. Later during the reception, guests were surprised with a mother daughter dance that added another incredibly personal layer to the celebration. None of those moments felt added in for attention. They genuinely mattered to the people involved, and you could feel that throughout the entire day.
The bridal details throughout the morning were some of my favorite parts to photograph. Her gown hanging against the stone walls of the venue fit the setting perfectly, especially with the softer textures and pearl detailing throughout the dress itself. The bridesmaids getting ready together in matching dusty blue pajamas added such a fun, relaxed energy to the morning, and everyone was genuinely so excited for these two. Some of my favorite photographs from that part of the day ended up being the simplest ones, sitting together laughing on the couch, helping with jewelry, and all the little interactions that happen naturally while everyone gets ready.

They also approached portraits in a way that made the gallery feel incredibly personal afterward. Instead of wanting every image to feel overly posed, they were drawn much more toward movement and connection. She specifically mentioned loving close ups of hands intertwined, ring shots, hugs, and photographs where emotion mattered more than perfect placement. That mindset always changes the way a wedding gallery feels because people stop thinking about what they are “supposed” to do and simply interact naturally with each other instead.
Another thing I loved was how intentional they were about protecting certain moments from becoming overwhelming. They wanted their first look to feel private and calm without a crowd surrounding them or turning it into a spectacle. Even while planning, the focus stayed on actually experiencing the day together rather than trying to recreate something they had seen online. That balance made the entire wedding feel much more relaxed and emotionally connected from beginning to end.

As the evening unfolded, the reception space came to life with soft blue linens, gold details, pink glassware, and florals overflowing across the tables. The entire setup tied the color palette together beautifully without feeling too themed or overdone. One of the moments they had looked forward to most was ending the night with fireworks, and it could not have been a more fitting ending to the celebration. They had already imagined a dramatic portrait together beneath the fireworks, including a dip kiss framed against the night sky, and it ended up bringing such a fun energy to the end of the gallery while still feeling completely true to them.

The bride wore a gown from Bella’s Bridal, while hair and makeup were handled by Joey Broughton of Golden Girls Glam. Videography was captured by JC Videography, and many of the wedding day elements were coordinated directly through the venue itself, which helped everything flow seamlessly throughout the day. From the emotional family moments to the romantic color palette and quieter candid interactions woven throughout the celebration, Ashley and Trevor created a wedding day that felt meaningful, joyful, and fully centered around the people they love most.
