The Johnsey Family Session in Birmingham Alabama
Being invited back to do another session is one of the biggest compliments a client can give me. This was the second session I’ve done with this energetic, beautiful, family and I hope it’s not the last! The Johnsey family is a delight, and every member of their crew is filled with joy…so, that made my job pretty easy. We did this recent family session at the gorgeous Birmingham Country Club, and the lush greenery always makes my photographer’s heart sing. Add in that elegant architecture, and I knew we had the perfect backdrop for this quintet. When I take family photos, I always strive for authentic interactions, so that we are able to get a variety of shots. The children’s smiles were infectious, and the parents’ love for one another shone through in every frame. We also were able to capture lots of little angles and areas of the club grounds, which is full of nooks and crannies.
One aspect of this session that I loved was capturing images of the sibling trio. Of course they probably have their squabbles like any siblings, but they have the most beautiful, genuine bond. The sisters are tightly-knit and really love their brother, who is the sweetest protector. From the tender moments between parents and children to the joyful group shots, every image captured the heart of the Johnsey family. Each family I work with has their own dynamics, and I try to honor that with the images I create. It was a joy to capture their bond and create lasting memories for them to cherish.
