The joy of capturing a family’s precious moments is unbeatable, especially when it’s celebrating the arrival of a newborn! I love capturing the intimate moments between a family when they bring their newborn home! Baby James stole my heart during his Mountain Brook Alabama at-home newborn session. It has been an absolute honor to see this sweet family grow! The first time I photographed them was two years ago for a mini session with just their daughter, Faye. I photographed them again for their maternity session when Caitlyn was pregnant with James. Now, I had the joy of witnessing this sweet family become a family of four and watch Faye embrace her role as a big sister. Faye was extremely loving to her baby brother, constantly doting on him. It was incredibly heartwarming to capture their sweet bond.

One thing I love about in-home newborn sessions, aside from relieving stress for the parents, is that I am able to document the nursery. I LOVE seeing the different nursery themes and all the loving details that are poured into this one room. Baby James’ rainforest themed nursery was amazing. A hunter green crib sat in the center of the room against a wall decorated with the most beautiful wallpaper, featuring lush greenery and wild animals hanging in the vegetation. It was so cute!

Caitlyn and her husband were beaming as they held their son. James was such a laid-back baby throughout the shoot. He never cried, as he was perfectly content in his parents’ arms! I’m incredibly thankful I could capture these beautiful family moments for this amazing family. It has been such a privilege to be a part of their journey to a family of four. I’m so happy for this sweet family and can’t wait to see baby James grow and see more of their adorable little girl, Faye!
