The Florentine Building Fall Wedding in Birmingham, AL | Amanda + Dan

Amanda and Dan’s Florentine Building fall wedding day was filled with so many memorable and beautiful moments. I had the greatest time capturing these two and their amazing bridal party! Both Amanda and Dan wore huge smiles all day long, visibly excited for this day to finally be here and all that means. 

The Florentine Building Downtown Birmingham Fall Wedding

Amanda started her wedding day off getting ready at her childhood home with her bridesmaids! Amanda’s sister and mom helped her get ready before her first look with her dad, which was so heartwarming!  Meanwhile, Dan began the day in the apartment he and Amanda had rented for the night of the wedding, which has a beautiful view overlooking downtown Birmingham, Alabama. Dan and his groomsmen toasted with a bottle of scotch whiskey from Europe they had been saving for Dan’s wedding. It was such a special moment. 

After the bride and groom finished getting ready, Amanda and Dan shared an intimate first look at Vulcan Park in Birmingham, AL.  Their first look photos and portraits after are some of my favorites! Neither could contain their excitement! They were both giggly and smiling from ear to ear. They were genuinely excited to see each other and both anxiously awaiting their wedding ceremony so they could say “I DO!”  

We captured their stunning bride and groom portraits in the emerald green fields of Vulcan Park. After their first look, we gathered the whole group together and grabbed some awesome shots of the bridal party! Then, it was finally time to head to the wedding ceremony!

The Wedding Ceremony

Their wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Stephen Catholic Church. I love the images I grabbed of the couple kneeling at the altar exchanging nervous, excited looks that seemed to say “I can’t believe it’s finally here! We are getting married!”  Amanda and Dan were beaming as they were announced as husband and wife. They then headed to their reception at the gorgeous Florentine Building in downtown Birmingham AL.

The food at the wedding reception was TOP NOTCH. It was just incredible!  I was SO excited looking at all the delicious food! I was mostly excited for the brown sugar bacon wrapped shrimp and the brie and fig crostini. All of it was delicious and was presented in a beautiful spread.  Before dinner, Amanda’s dad gave one of the most impactful wedding speeches I’ve ever heard. He touched not only on the importance and excitement of Amanda and Dan’s marriage, but also how grateful he is for his own marriage so many years in. It was incredibly moving and heartfelt, and I know it meant the world to Amanda and Dan. 

After the touching toast, Amanda and Dan shared their first dance together as husband and wife. It was so sweet and they both were radiating joy! As the dance floor opened up, Amanda made sure everyone went out on the dance floor, no matter how old or young! The band was phenomenal and they kept everyone dancing till the very end of the night!  To end their perfect day, wedding guests lined up with streamers and sent the newlyweds off! I love the romantic shot of them in the back window of the getaway car as it pulled away from The Florentine Building.

These two are some of the most genuinely kind people I’ve ever met, and they were truly a joy to celebrate. Amanda and Dan, thank you SO much for choosing me to be a part of your special day! I am so incredibly happy for you both and grateful to have been a part of your gorgeous Florentine Building fall wedding! CONGRATULATIONS!
