Oh, I just adore Brooke and Bailey! These two are super laid back and just perfect together!! Recently, we met up for their Oak Mountain State Park engagement session and I had so much fun getting to know them better. I got to learn all about their relationship and their wedding plans. They will be getting married at the Barn at Shady Lane this June!! I love engagement sessions because I get to know so much more about my couples! There’s nothing like getting the chance to be face to face with my couples, and learning all about who they are.
I know Brooke because I actually photographed her brother’s wedding in May of 2019. When she reached out when she got engaged, saying I did a happy dance is an understatement! And when I started to learn more about Bailey, I realized she had met the PERFECT person for her! I’m just so happy for these two!!! They met while they were students at the University of Alabama, thanks to some mutual friends. After realizing that they liked each other more than “just friends,” their relationship bloomed.
On a visit to see Bailey’s family in Virginia, he popped the question. Brooke and Bailey had been working on four wheelers before a family party to celebrate his grandmother turning 94. After they finally stopped working and went to get ready, Brooke tried to make sure she looked nice for the family photos. Once he was ready, Bailey walked her over to his grandparents’ house. In front of a huge magnolia tree in the yard, he got down on one knee. Seriously, how sweet!!
For their engagement portraits, we chose a beautiful location in Birmingham, AL. Oak Mountain State Park provided us with a variety of locations, making their session super fun and super sweet. We literally drove from one end of the park to the other, and we had such a blast! They were up for anything, which was good because the number of times I just pulled off on the side of the road when I saw a good spot was A LOT! At the end of the evening, Brooke even suggested we get our toes wet in the lake! I was all about it!!! She and Bailey are actually going to be getting married on mine and my husband’s wedding anniversary!! I can’t wait to share an anniversary with these two!!
Congratulations again, Bailey and Brooke! Your Oak Mountain State Park engagement session was a true joy to photograph, and I wish you nothing but love. I can’t wait for your wedding this June!!
