Ashley and Stephen are just the sweetest! Their romantic Birmingham Botanical Gardens engagement session was so much fun, especially since they brought their dog, Sophie along – and it was where he proposed to her. I LOVE when my couples have a chance to highlight something special about them and their relationship in their engagement session. I originally met Ashley at a mutual friend’s proposal since I was photographing it. Thanks for getting engaged, Morgan, haha! After Ashley and Stephen got engaged, she reached out to me and had me booked before her venue was even set in stone. It’s still so special to me that she knew she wanted me as her photographer!! And if that doesn’t show you how amazing Ashley is, she made me homemade m&m cookies for our meeting! They were AMAZING, by the way!!
These two met online before their first date at Moe’s, and before they knew it, they were falling for each other. Ashley told me that Stephen proposed to her in the botanical gardens, which she thought was perfect. He told her that they had a work event to attend and wanted to go early to walk around. When they got to the rose garden, Stephen dropped to one knee. Ashley told me it was kind of funny because roses are her favorites – so that’s why she thought he proposed there… but he just couldn’t wait any longer! Seriously, how sweet is that?!
Birmingham Botanical Gardens Engagement Session
For Ashley and Stephen’s engagement portraits, we actually started over at Jemison Park. With the fall leaves everywhere, it was just beautiful. And Sophie had a great time running around and celebrating her parents’ engagement! After some gorgeous fall portraits, we headed over to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for their second outfit. I loved watching Stephen and Ashley enjoy being together, laughing and just being in love. It’s probably the best part of my job as a wedding photographer: watching couples fall in love over and over again!
Congratulations again, Ashley and Stephen! I can’t wait for your wedding day this weekend!
