A few weeks ago, I teamed up with some of the most wonderful wedding vendors in the Birmingham area for a styled shoot! This was my first styled shoot to ever do, and I had an absolute blast! It’s incredible to see the hard work of such talented vendors come together and create something so beautiful. My sweet models, Natalie and Colby, were laughing so much during our shoot because the number of times I was squealing with excitement behind the camera was more than any of us could keep up with, so I would say it was a successful shoot!
We started off at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens since it is one of my favorite places to shoot in Birmingham. We thought the lace gown with the champagne underlay would look gorgeous in the garden setting. I’m a sucker for a bridal gown covered in lace with a train 🙂 It looked perfect on her and in this location! After a little while, we decided to go ahead and have her change into the second bridal gown. This one was so simple yet so stunning! It had lace detail at the top, a gorgeous cut out back, and lace trim on the bottom, finished with a stunning beaded belt. The gowns at Bridal Bliss in Homewood really are just stunning, and Regina was such a huge help deciding on them!
Speaking of deciding on things, if you ever go into Southeastern Jewelers, you will have such a hard time deciding on anything, because everything there is simply gorgeous. I had the hardest time picking out the engagement rings for this shoot, but I wanted something a little different than I had ever gotten to shoot before. Mike and the entire team at Southeastern are so kind, helpful, and genuine, and they helped me find the perfect rings!
The dresses and rings were both complimented by the STUNNING floral arrangement Kaitlin with Forever Wild Floral Company made for this shoot! I literally told Kaitlin the colors I was going for, and she just ran with it! I love when other vendors have that creative freedom in a shoot to create something that speaks to them!
It was a hot evening, so I was half expecting Natalie’s hair to have loosened up a tad or her makeup to not look quite as perfect as it had right after Danielle had finished it (because that’s what would usually happen to me), but WOW. Let me tell you. It stayed perfect the. whole. time. Danielle also is so incredibly talented and just ran with the ideas I told her I was going for. I showed her a few pictures, and she made my vision come to life but even better than I could have imagined! Natalie is already such a natural beauty, and Danielle complimented and accented that natural beauty so well. Not only is Danielle super talented, but she is one of the kindest people I have ever met!
And of course, we can’t forget about the groom! Colby’s tuxedo from Mr. Burch Inverness fit perfectly on him! We decided to go with a vest to go with the first gown and a cummerbund to go with the second gown. Beth was so helpful while trying to decide exactly which tuxedo and accessories would look the best for the idea I was going for!
This shoot would not have been possible without the collaboration of these incredibly talented, kind, and generous vendors, so a huge thanks to them all! 🙂 Enjoy looking through all the fun we had!
