Ashley and Chase approached their wedding day with a clarity that shaped everything without ever feeling rigid, and it really set them apart. They weren’t interested in filling the day for the sake of it or following a formula that didn’t fit them, and I was intrigued from the start. What mattered was being able to move through it fully present, without distraction, and that intentionality quietly guided every decision from the very beginning. I loved the entire process, because they were so grounded.

The morning held a quiet kind of softness that’s hard to replicate. In the Glass House, Ashley stepped into the day slowly, surrounded by natural light and the quiet rhythm of getting ready. Nothing felt hurried or overly orchestrated, but there was a steady unfolding, where each piece came together in its own time. A short walk away, Chase was settling in at the cottage, close enough to feel connected to everything, but still allowing that space that makes the anticipation feel real.
There were details woven into the day that carried more meaning than they looked like at first glance. A small tribute placed near the cake in honor of Ashley’s grandmother, paired with the engraving inside her wedding band, “love & hugs,” written in her grandmother’s own handwriting. It wasn’t something that asked to be noticed, but once you saw it, you understood the weight it carried. The kind of detail that doesn’t just belong to the day, but to everything that came before it and the pieces of their story.

When they chose to see each other before the ceremony, it shifted the entire atmosphere. The first look was held with a sense of quiet restraint, private in the ways that mattered, while still allowing those closest to them to witness it from a distance. It created space, not just in the timeline, but in the way they experienced the day. From there, everything moved with an ease that never felt rushed, portraits unfolding naturally, conversations lingering a little longer, nothing pulling them out of the moment.
Set along the water, the ceremony felt grounded and intentional without ever feeling over-designed or complicated. It was a photographer’s dream as the light settled exactly where it needed to, the setting spoke for itself, and the pacing allowed each part of it to land without being drawn out. As the day moved into the evening, that same sense of intention carried through. Portraits were kept focused and deliberate, just enough to preserve what mattered without holding them away from the celebration. And once they stepped into the reception, there was a noticeable shift, and such joy! They weren’t navigating the day anymore. They were fully inside it, moving through it with a kind of presence that changes everything about how it’s remembered.

They closed the night with a second line exit, which felt less like a planned moment and more like a natural extension of who they are together. Joyful, a little unexpected, and rooted in connection. Thank you, Chase and Ashley, for allowing me to be a part of your sweet and intentional day.
