Maternity Session at Birmingham Botanical Gardens | Ellen + Matt

Capturing Ellen and Matt’s Maternity Session at Birmingham Botanical Gardens was a special session for me, as I used to teach with Ellen at Leeds Elementary. I’ve known her for a while, and I was overjoyed when she reached out to me about capturing her maternity photos! Seeing this glowing mama-to-be was so exciting!

We met at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in downtown Birmingham, AL. Ellen looked absolutely gorgeous! Her royal blue, flowing maternity dress looked amazing on her and was beautiful against the natural backdrop of the gardens. We talked about how excited they both are in anticipation for their little one to arrive. 

Ellen and Matt told me that they aren’t finding out the gender of their baby. They are waiting until the baby is born! While it is exciting to find out ahead of time and plan, I love the build up of anticipation and excitement that goes with not finding out. 

Whether their bundle of joy ends up being a boy or girl, only time will tell, but one thing is certain; this baby is already loved unconditionally by Ellen and Matt and nothing will change that. Matt and Ellen are going to be the most wonderful parents! I know Ellen will be the most caring, loving mama! 

Pregnancy is a weird time because it really is fleeting and goes by quickly. However, when you’re in the thick of it, it does seem to drag on forever. All you can think about is holding and meeting your baby. There are some days where it feels like it will never come! When the day finally arrives, it is the most joyous, miraculous day of your life, and I am so excited for these first time parents! 

Ellen and Matt, I am incredibly happy for you both and am grateful that you trusted me to capture these precious moments of your growing family! Congratulations and I can’t wait to the meet baby!
