Birmingham Botanical Gardens Engagement Session | Lauren & Emmitt

I’m thrilled to share the engagement story of two sweethearts, Lauren and Emmitt! Their engagement session took us to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the streets of Downtown Birmingham. We had an unforgettable day together capturing their engagement photos!

How They Met

Lauren and Emmitt’s story began their freshman year at the University of Alabama. They met at a dorm party, which, as Lauren laughingly recalls, was the start of their friendship. Although it wasn’t until Lauren was in grad school at Auburn that their paths crossed again, and this time, the timing was perfect. They started dating, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

The proposal was perfectly fitting for Lauren and Emmitt. Both of their families were in town, all dressed up for a Mardi Gras Ball in Mobile. Emmitt had the perfect plan to propose at the picturesque Fort Conde Inn. Under the pretense of taking pictures, he surprised Lauren by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. Surrounded by family and in such a beautiful setting, it was a moment Lauren will never forget!

Their Birmingham Botanical Gardens Engagement Session

We started our session at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which was in full bloom and absolutely stunning. The gardens provided a variety of beautiful backdrops, from colorful flowers to serene pathways. Next, we headed to Downtown Birmingham to capture a different side of their love story. The charm of the city offered a contrast to the natural beauty of the gardens. We explored the historic architecture, capturing candid moments of Lauren and Emmitt enjoying each other’s company.
